School classrooms have reported problems of low ventilation rates and high energy consumption. Therefore, a new ventilation technology is required for energy saving and high-efficiency ventilation. Natural ventilation can improve the indoor environment while reducing ventilation loads and maintenance costs in intermediate seasons. However, control of natural ventilation rates is difficult and depends on many uncertain factors. The purpose of this study is to develop natural ventilation strategies using sliding and top-hung window openings combined with top-hung void window openings to ensure high-performance natural ventilation. This strategy considers that internal heat gain and CO2 emission depend on human density and class schedules. To improve natural ventilation, a strategy is proposed to improve energy saving in university classrooms. These results ignored the ventilation rates for staircases, so the influence of the ventilation rate on the entire building was not clear. In the next step of this research, specific influences will be investigated.
