We prepared poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (poly(IPAAm-co-DMAEMA))-grafted brush surfaces on silica beads as Chromatographic matrices by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). Utilizing poly(IPAAm-co-DMAEMA)-grafted silica beads as column matrixes, temperature-dependent elution profiles of anionic bioactive compounds were examined at various temperatures. The effect of electrostatic interaction on retention behavior of various types of anionic bioactive compounds was also discussed.
