Rapid absorption/ desorption properties of porous PNIPAAm hydrogels having nanosized tracts

Incorporation of functional groups into the thermoresponsive hydrogels is a very effective method for development of the double-stimuli responsive wares. In this study, we incorporate the linear poly(acrylic acid) chain into the hydrogels with the tunnel-like nano pores by the polymerization of the acrylic acid monomer inside the hydrogels. This hydrogels have a quite unique structure; semi-interpenetrating polymer networks with a tunnel-like nano pore filled with pH-responsive linear chains. The pH-responsive chains show a specific effect on the thermoresponse of the networks to induce the double-stimuli response.
