Recently, photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been attracting attention as a new treatment method with fewer side effects than conventional cancer treatment methods. However, PDT is currently applicable only to those cancer types that can be directly irradiated by wired light. In this paper, we designed a compact power receiving device and a wireless power transfer (WPT) system containing an LED with an emission wavelength of 660 nm for long-term implantation in the body. Then, experiments were conducted to induce cancer cell death by photodynamic therapy using WPT light irradiation and a porphyrin derivative that exhibits nuclear transfer. As a result, 94% of the cells were successfully induced to die after 60 minutes of light irradiation.
