title = "Mitigation of channel clogging in a deterministic lateral displacement blood processing device by polyamine induced DNA folding",
abstract = "Channel clogging is quite problematic in blood processing using deterministic lateral displacement (DLD). We found that small posts and narrow gap between the posts induced the clogging, and string like substance was observed in the clogging residue. Immunostaining revealed DNA existence at the nearest part of posts, and tangling of long DNAs was suggested as a cause of the clogging. DNA is known to be folded by polyamine, and mitigation of the channel clogging was demonstrated by dispersing polyamine into the blood specimen.",
