[Ni(Hbim)₃][K-crypland] (K-cryptand = potassium crypt and monocation: Hbim = mono-deprotonated 2,2′-biimidazolatc] is synthesized and its crystal structure is characterized by X-ray crystal analysis. (Crystal data: motmclinic, C2/c (No. 15), a = 18.966(2) Å, b = 19.059(2) Å, c = 25.469(2) Å, β= 103.201(8)̊, V= 8962(1) Å³ Z= 8) It has a unique channel structure built up by slacking two-dimensional honeycomb sheets.
