title = "Flame-Retardant Polymeric Foams and Materials of Trains",
abstract = "Both thermosetting resins and thermoplastic resins are used for foamed plastics, such as polyurethane and polystyrene, and control of foaming and molding has improved markedly with the progress of nanotechnology. These advancements include not only packaging-related applications but also industrial ones, such as heat insulating materials that depend on structure and physical properties. This review describes the progress and examples of railway vehicles and the improvement of flame retardancy regarding the use of foamed plastics as heat insulating materials for train vehicle materials and cushioning materials for seats. This chapter also describes thermal analysis and evaluation of unique forms of materials, as well as future prospects for environmental energy and resource recycling.",
