abstract = "In order to solve two problems associated with the use of electric judging machine in the fencing event fleurette: 1) the time and effort required to set up the judges and 2) the difficulty to understand the relationship between judging and sword attack/defense, we examined the configuration of the device that realizes automatic judges of the effectiveness of a thrust by illuminating the sword-tip, without using an electric judging machine. At the moment of a thrust, an LED attached to the blade of the sword-tip emits light, and at the same time an image of the area around the sword-tip position is captured by a camera installed outside the brim, and based on the H color histogram in the HSV color space of the pixels in the image, whether the area where the sword struck is a valid surface or not is determined. The automatic scoring by the emission of light from the sword-tip will make it easier for anyone to understand the attack and defense of the sword, thus contributing to the popularization of fencing.",
