N2 - In this study, iniferter polymerization method was utilized to prepare thermoresponsive surfaces. Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PIPAAm) was grafted onto glass surfaces using iniferter polymerization method with varying monomer concentrations. XPS analyses and static contact angle measurements revealed that PIPAAm was grafted onto glass surfaces in terms of their chemical compositions and thermoresoponsive hydrophilic/hydrophobic changes. Furthermore, prepared PIPAAm-grafted surfaces showed cell adhesion/detachment by changes in culture temperature from 37°C to 20°C. Thus, by controlling monomer concentration, thermoresponsive PIPAAm-grafted glass surfaces can be prepared through iniferter polymerization technique.
