It is important for analysis of re-constructed tissue to analyze cell functions. Development of patterned cell surface is required for analysis of cell functions for the application to medical fields such as tissue engineering or drug screening. And then, to better understand or control the interactions between material and cell or protein is essentially important for cell pattering techniques. We have succeeded in preparing patterned cell surface using electron beam polymerization of hydrophilic polymer and laser ablation technique. In this report, we will describe the effect of surface properties to cell adhesion or proliferation onto the material surfaces.
