Abstract

In this study, light induced iniferter polymerization was utilized to prepare thermoresponsive nanobio surfaces for possible recovery of tissue mimicking cell sheet. Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PIPAAm) was grafted onto glass surfaces using iniferter polymerization method with varying monomer concentrations. Several surface analyses including XPS analyses, static contact angle measurements and AFM revealed that prepared surfaces were successfully modified with PIPAAm. PIPAAm-grafted surfaces showed cell adhesion/detachment control by changes in culture temperature. Confluently cultured cells were able to harvest as a tissue-like cell sheet from the prepared surfaces.
