Abstract

The polyolefin sulfone is a polymer that possesses sulfonyl groups (SO 2) on a main chain. The polyolefin sulfones possess a large dipole moment on a main chain and the structures of the main chain are 1:1 alternating copolymer of olefin monomer and SO2. In this study, a series of liquid crystalline polyolefin sulfones were synthesized, and the effect of dipole moment of the main chain on the liquid crystal polymer was investigated.
