Power Transfer by Electric Coupling between Rotating Bodies with Axis-symmetrical Long Structures

Abstract

This paper proposes a slip ring without mechanical brushes, which utilizes electric coupling. The coupling capacitors are compensated with inserted inductances. In the application to a solar power satellite, the power transfer of 1 GW is shown to be feasible.
