Abstract

Polyion complexes are prepared consisting of poly(DMAAm-co-AMPS) as the anionic water-soluble polymers and poly(DMAAm-co-ATAC) as the cationic water-soluble polymers. Novel cell sheet carriers are prepared by modifying porous membrane with the polyion complex gels by electron beam irradiated cross-linking and covalent grafting technique. Using the modified membranes, cell sheets can be recovered from temperature-responsive cell culture surfaces and be transferred to new tissue culture polystyrene dishes. This new technique has potential applications for regeneration medicine.
