Abstract

The photorefrative effect of photorefractive-polymer-stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystals (PPS-FLCs) was investigated. The PPS-FLC materials exhibited monostable or bistable electro-optic effect. The photorefractivity of PPS-FLC materials were investigated by two-beam coupling (TBC) experiments. While the monostable material showed TBC signal with low noise, the bistable one showed noisy signal.
