Abstract
A reliability analysis method of steel structures in fire environment is formulated. Failure probability of a steel beam-column with fireproofing protection is calculated using the Monte Carlo simulation. Weight of combustibles in a room and the yield strength of steel at raised temperature are treated as random variables in the analysis. In the lifetime of a structure, earthquake induced fire probability is lower than that of fire occurs in usual occasion. However, the effect of earthquake induced fire on loss of human life could be much higher.
