DNS of turbulent heat transfer in channel flow: Near-wall turbulence quantities

Abstract

A direct numerical simulation (DNS) of turbulent heat transfer in channel flow was carried out for Re(τ) = 180 and 395 with various molecular Prandtl numbers. Turbulence statistics such as mean temperature profile, temperature variance, turbulent heat fluxes and turbulent Prandtl number were calculated and the near-wall behaviors were investigated.
