Abstract

The current empirical procedure for evaluating soil liquefaction triggering is described in detail. The effects of irregularity of seismic shaking on the cyclic resistance ratio are revisited. The empirical procedures to appropriately incorporate the effects of soil ageing and imperfect saturation are introduced, and some case history studies are described.
