Abstract

Blocking diodes are used in the PV power generation systems to prevent the reverse flow. In this study the string current and power losses on blocking diodes are actually measured in a 10kW-PV system. As a result, unevenness between string currents occurs especially in the periods of the sunrise and sunset. And the reverse voltage are imposed on the blocking diodes when the unevenness of currents occurs. Also the loss was given at the rate of 0.2% for total generation every day. The rate must be more in systems with lower DC voltage.
