A study on influence of traffic flow using inter-vehicle and road-vehicle communications at intersections

Abstract

This paper discusses the traffic flow improving system by using Inter-Vehicle Communication and Road-Vehicle Communication in an intersection. We focused on a crossroad intersection because there are often traffic congestions. The density of the vehicles and the number of turning vehicles are evaluated by simulation to show the effectiveness of the proposed system. The rate that the vehicle equips the ITS communication terminal is also considered since diffusion process of ITS terminals is discussed.
